NFCC Lead - Animal Rescue

Due to retirement, the role of NFCC Lead for Animal Rescue (Incidents Involving Animals) is open to expressions of interest.

Applications are invited from senior managers (Area Managers and above) however consideration will be given to Group Managers who are keen to build their wider experience.

Previous experience in this area is not necessary but a genuine interest and enquiring mind in this specialist area would be welcomed and can be a great contrast to your primary role.

The role sits in NFCC’s Operations Committee within the area of Technical Response and would suit an FRS professional looking to become involved in national work, influencing and driving development of national guidance and capability of fire and rescue services in dealing with animals involved in incidents.

This is an engaging, interesting and complex area and the role brings the opportunity to work with and support technical rescue specialists through the Chairing of the Animal Rescue Practitioners Forum.

You will engage with national partners and stakeholders such as the RSPCA and the British Animal Rescue and Trauma Care Association (BARTA) and represent NFCC in the media if required.

You will work closely where appropriate with other NFCC lead officers to ensure the success of the NFCC Operations Committee and their work.

If you would like to know more about the role please contact Deputy Chief Fire Officer Steve Foye on foyes@rbfrs.co.uk or on 07887 830208

Expressions of interest, of no more than 500 words, are to be sent to nfccadminsupport@nationalfirechiefs.org.uk by midday on Monday 29 March 2021
