Every year there is a varied and dynamic programme of events, which are designed to encourage new ways of thinking and to inspire, challenge and develop the Fire and Rescue Service through shared experience.

Operational Discretion - A necessity for effective operations? Crowne Plaza Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon, 21st - 22nd May 2018.

This one day conference is your chance to listen to strategic decision makers as well as practitioners delivering this on the front line, with a chance to ask your questions. Listen to key speakers talking about Operational Discretion, and a range of related topics including case studies which give real life examples of where this has been used successfully both in the sector and beyond.

This conference will aim to critically challenge key areas including:

  • What it is, and importantly what it isn’t
  • Barriers to the use of operational discretion
  • Decision recording
  • Supporting decision makers 
  • How you introduce this and measure its effectiveness

Fire Fleet and Equipment Conference and Exhibition, Telford International Centre, Telford, 11th - 13th June 2018.

We are pleased to announce this year’s Fire Fleet and Equipment Conference and Exhibition will take place on 11th – 13th June 2018 at the Telford International Centre. This year we have taken the decision to co-locate the event with the NAPFM Conference and Exhibition so whilst our conference and exhibition for Fire will be a separate event we have the benefit of co-location with our police colleagues for networking. Both Police and Fire can book.

We will see the following subjects covered over the two days:

  • HMICFRS - What does inspection mean for Fleet
  • Police and Fire Collaboration - case studies from 2 services, one service who went down the route of collaboration and one who didn't.
  • Electric Vehicles
  • Best Practice Guidance
  • Risk Awareness/Driver Assessment
  • Vehicle Inspection - MOTS/Exemptions
  • New Dimensions - what are the future plans for the current ageing fleet of vehicles and equipment
