New Fire Standards workshops are taking place this summer

Following the first two meetings of the Fire Standards Board a number of workshops have now been set up to drive the work and take it forward. The aim of these is to engage with fire and rescue services and how the proposed standards could impact on them.

NFCC's Central Programme Office will be running these regional workshops which are open to strategic managers and heads of departments from fire and rescue service. The Board would like to gather views and feedback from services about the proposed format and structure of standards, along with the potential impacts of  adhering to these standards.

These workshops will also help inform fire services about the development process of standards and seek to find out what support services would like with regards to implementation.

Feedback and contributions will also be sought from other stakeholders with views on standards. However, at this early stage, these workshops are specifically for managers within fire and rescue services.

The workshops are taking place during June and July to ensure development work is taking place at the earliest opportunity.  Services do not have to attend the event in their region, although the opportunity to network with neighbouring services is always useful. Further workshops may be run later in the summer.

The workshops will be a half day either morning (10am registration) or afternoon (12.30pm registration), exact timings will be confirmed for each venue.  Numbers at each venue will vary slightly so places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Audience

Open to strategic managers and heads of departments. We are specifically looking to have attendance from those who have responsibility for local policies that are likely to be impacted by the introduction of professional standards. Those managers involved in the inspection for their service or in transformation or improvement teams may also wish to attend.
