NFCC expresses sympathy on the loss of Chief Fire Officer Kevin Pearson

Statement from NFCC Chair, Roy Wilsher.

On behalf of friends and colleagues from across the UK Fire Services,  NFCC would like to express its sincere sympathy on the loss of Kevin Pearson who passed away on Saturday 4 November.

Kevin was the longest serving Chief Fire Officer in the country with sixteen years' service in the role.

He was also the longest serving member of CFOA - now NFCC - of more than twenty years, where his cutting edge and innovative contributions to the work of many committees have left a lasting impact for the benefit of others.

Kevin was not only passionate about his work with Incident Command; he served as a Member of the Equality and Diversity Champions Network and the Government's National Strategic Advisory Team.

Kevin's work was recognised within the UK and internationally. In 2013 he was awarded the Member of the Republic of The Gambia (MRG) honour, an award rarely given to non-Gambian nationals.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.
